Why self-care is a must in your day-to-day routine

Hey Dreamer

I talk a lot about self-care, especially since almost half of my clients are dealing with some form of work-related anxiety and are on sick leave.

I also know how challenging it can be to prioritize our well-being even if we know it’s one of the most important things we can do for both our physical and mental health.

That’s why I knew the only way I would get on my yoga mat 2x a week was by investing in an 8-class pack at my favourite studio in NYC.

Yes, I’m back in NYC for the summer as a form of self-care. I said yes to what my heart truly desired this season and also decided to finally celebrate my birthday in the Big Apple. It will be memorable with 3 days of fun-filled, dress-to-impress events with my friends and family.

But why am I talking about self-care when you want to know all about finding a career you love! Because self-care is the beating heart of your well-being and it’s even more important when you’re dealing with major dissatisfactions in your career.

Without a regular self-care practice your nervous system gets used to being in survival mode (sympathetic nervous system a.k.a. fight or flight mode), and you start to believe waking up with a pit feeling in your stomach on Monday mornings is normal.

It’s not.

When you start focusing on your self-care, you’ll start to notice the subtle messages being sent by your body and stop ignoring the big ones. You’ll be able to understand your body’s unique “alarm” signals as a clear message to get out! Instead of a discomfort to ignore.

That’s why I’m always talking about self-care with my clients who are looking for a meaningful change in their careers. Self-care is at the core of what I teach them, and it’s at the core of your well-being at work when you want to feel good in your career and day to day routine.

So, how can you start bringing more self-care into your life today so you can start waking up to a career and life you love sooner rather than later?

How to stay on track when you’re changing careers

Hey Dreamer  Eight years ago, I dove into being self-employed.I had no idea what I was doing! At the time, things weren’t going well with my supervisor (she was not a nice person), so I quit out of the blue. I gave her my 2-weeks notice just before the start of the Christmas holidays  (don’t judge me, she had
