Why Saying “I Can’t” Limits YOUR Options

In the last two months, my life took a turn for the better, but I still felt uneasy.
Why? Cause old habits die hard.

After a month of flexible plans and being open to anything new, my mind (the old me) started knocking. I allowed worry to take up some space on decisions I had previously made confidently.

What if became loud.

I took some time to reflect.
What was really going on?
Change.

The discomfort of change creates a reason for old habits to arise… forcefully.
You know that feeling. You’re ready for change, but the art of putting breaks on your personal development kicks in.

That shyt is real.

What happens?
You start to compare your life to other people.
Their accomplishments seem so great, you don’t know how to make changes in your own life to create a similar reality.
You don’t even believe it’s an option.

The thought of change becomes overwhelming, so two simple words come to mind:
I can’t …

These words become your best defense against change.

I can’t leave my job and do what I really want to do. I have bills to pay, children to feed, I’m paying back student loans, work needs me, my mortgage.

You get the point, the reasons are endless.
It’s just not possible.

Why does your mind jump to such drastic conclusions?
Why does living a life you love have to equate not having any money? Or leaving your job … tomorrow?!

When I left my job in 2014, I didn’t know what would happen after the initial 4 months plan.
Did I worry I was making a big mistake? Yes.
Was I terrified about the future? Absolutely.
Was my mind telling me I was crazy? Everyday.

But the motivation to change my life cycle and break out of the routine was greater than the fear of the unknown.

I had suffered enough.
I was ready for something new.
