Hey Dreamer
Eight years ago, I dove into being self-employed.
I had no idea what I was doing!
At the time, things weren’t going well with my supervisor (she was not a nice person), so I quit out of the blue. I gave her my 2-weeks notice just before the start of the Christmas holidays (don’t judge me, she had it coming). And then, January came along and I panicked.
Sometimes, we quit without a plan. This isn’t the approach I usually recommend, but if your bank account can support you for at least 1 to 3 months, sometimes you gotta do what you gotta do.
And, sometimes quitting can be done with a clear plan and strategy, so you feel confident as you transition out of your current position into something more aligned with you and your Soul.
Anyway, the reason why I was sharing a tiny piece of one of my many quitting stories isn’t the decision I made to listen to my heart, but how important it was for me to create an environment that would support me in believing in myself and my dream.
I needed the support to believe my wild dreams would succeed. So, I hired a business coach (shout out to Sarena Miller!) and invested in a bunch of follow-up coaching programs (that if I’m being honest, I didn’t need).
In the end, a simple strategy Sarena taught me 8 years ago would be the golden key that would keep me on track and lead to my success.
Celebrating my little wins.
In the beginning, I didn’t have a full schedule of clients, but I found ways to celebrate my progress every week.
This simple practice helped me stay in a positive headspace when things were challenging. It kept me in a space of hope when I wanted to quit. And, it reminded me how far I had come along each year I was “building my business.”
The simplest strategies were the ones that led to my biggest results.
Today, 8 years later, I can look back and see how all these little celebrations kept me going, they allowed me to find new opportunities, and set the path for my upcoming career transitions.
But today, one thing I want to share with you is the importance of following your heart even if you don’t know HOW to make the dream come true.
Trust yourself and your desires, they will lead you in the right direction. Listen to your inner voice urging you to say yes to what your heart truly desires to do.
In my case, my Treasure Hunt has led me exactly where I needed to be, and I had no idea this was where it was leading me but it all makes so much sense now. (Check out my YouTube video on the TREASURE HUNT analogy).
I am ELATED!
Dreamers, it’s working for me and I know it will work for you!
